It’s team Red vs team Blue and they are duking it out in an asteroid field.
Each pilot has a slightly randomized reaction time for decision making. They also pick their targets by themselves and switches targets if they end up in endless chasing loops. They also have an aggressiveness value that decides, well how aggressively they turn.
Seen from a player controlled ship (the player is neutral in this video but can make enemies by shooting down other faction ships)
I’m thinking it would be cool to run several simulations over time, gradually rewarding the survivors from each round with better skills. The goal would be to machine learn “breed” the ultimate fighter pilot squadron.
