For this video, we made a platform game in Unity just because, yea why not?
The idea for this video was to pay homage to the games me and Ola grew up with back in the 80s and 90s consoles, complete with terrible Japanese to English translations.
The levels and sprites were all hand-drawn in Photoshop. The metal hero sprites are based on the Mega-man sprite sheet. Everything was put together in Unity3D.
Over the course of a couple of months, a playable prototype started to emerge and we decided to simply record bits of gameplay to use as material for the video.
The prototype is not very optimized, has no sound effects and still a ways to go in terms of game design. But given enough interest we’ll definitely consider coming back to complete it!
